Blankensee Summer Music Festival

After our joint concert in Lewisham in October 2016, LCS are delighted to be singing once again with Johannischer Chor Berlin as part of the Blankensee Summer Music Festival, located in a lakeside nature reserve 30 miles south of Berlin.

The concert takes place in Waldfrieden Church Centre, a listed building with Art Nouveau features dating from 1929.

The Blankensee festival has been running from April to September every year since 1993, welcoming musicians from many countries. This year’s event will mark two Jubilees: the 25th anniversary of the festival, and the 50th anniversary of the twinning of the boroughs of Lewisham and Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.

Under the direction of Nico de Villiers, LCS will perform Haydn’s Insanae et vanae curae, Carl Rütti‘s I wonder as I wander and Mozart’s Coronation MassAnd with our friends from Johannischer Chor Berlin we shall sing William Byrd’s O Lord, look down.

Nico will also play Mozart’s Fantasy in C minor, K.475 for piano solo, and Johannischer Chor Berlin will sing a choral medley of their own.

Entry is free but donations are welcome
