Join us

Are you interested in joining LCS? Inspired to take up choral singing?

photos4-5We welcome new joiners and have members across a wide age spectrum, so you’ll feel at home. We are open to singers in all voice parts, but in order to maintain a good balance of voices, we are currently targeting recruitment at tenors and basses.

Although we do not audition, the choir performs to a high standard and tackles some complex pieces which require a level of experience and musical ability. Rehearsals are relatively fast-paced, so may not suit complete beginners.

All prospective members are very welcome to come along and try us on one or more of three joining weeks at the beginning of each term (see below). Meanwhile, you can get a sense of the supportive style of our rehearsals from this feature and interview with our Director of Music and a number of choir members.

Subscriptions for the 2019/2020 season are on an annual basis, payable at the following rates:

  • Standard £150*
  • Concessionary (unemployed or retired) £90*
  • Full-time student £15*

*Joiners in the spring and summer terms will pay reduced rates.

Members are also required to purchase scores for the works being rehearsed. Full details will be provided to you on joining, and once you have a member login for the site, all information for each concert will be available in Members Info and Resources.
